Carl is the visionary behind Action Cinema Training (ACT), bringing decades of high-stakes expertise from both the military and the entertainment industry. A veteran performer and coordinator, Carl’s elite resume features an award-winning career, a Canadian Screen Award nomination, and over 100 film credits alongside more than 500 live shows. His global live performance credits include high-profile spectacles such as the Juno Awards, Just for Laughs, MAC Cosmetics in Cannes, the Venetian Casino Macau, the Halifax International Busker Festival, and the Toronto and New Delhi Auto Shows.
His background as an F-18 Fighter Jet Technician instilled a lifelong discipline for technical precision—a mindset he directly applies to action design, stunt choreography, and live set management.
Uncompromising on safety, Carl holds a college certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) alongside certifications in High-Angle Rigging & Rescue, Advanced First Aid, and JHSC. Trusted on the most volatile sets, he frequently serves as Fire Safety for high-risk car and pyrotechnic stunts. Combined with his NCCP coaching credentials and training in Early Childhood Health Principles of Development, Carl ensures that every ACT tier is as structurally secure and developmentally sound as it is visually thrilling.
Serena Ly
Administrator & Stunt Performer
Serena is the operational backbone of ACT, combining elite athletic discipline with professional business acumen. A 2nd-degree black belt in Taekwondo and a former competitive cheerleader, she brings a high level of technical movement and performance experience to the team.
Serena holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, allowing her to seamlessly manage the administration of the academy while remaining an active force in the stunt community.
